Ok, excuse my ignorance here, but is it "close" to being
solved or is development on alpha stalled? I'm completely
ignorant of the status of other platforms (I use ia32
exclusively), but I'd love to know when we may have KDE 2
entering testing... BTW, the only two reasons why I'm still
using potato is:
* the lack of KDE 2 in testing;
* the strange fact that under, X 4.0.x, rxvt, xterm and the
terminal emulator of KDE (can't recall its name -- konsole?
kterm? whatever) have some weird (and looong) timeout before
giving me the command line. An aggravating thing is that as
root, I see no delay, but as a common user, I can't strace
a suid binary and see where the problem is. :-(
[]s, Roger...
P.S.: If anybody has any hint, it will be truly welcome.
P.S.2: Before I had my HD burned by a natural accident (thunder), I
was running X 4.0.1 and I had to recompile the rxvt package to exclude
an extension with a weird name that made this delay I'm talking about
vanish. Has anybody else seen this?
