DMA su HP ZV6000 o Compaq R4000



Macchina HP ZV6000 processore Athlon64 3200+

Problema1: NON viene attivato il DMA sui dischi ide.
la macchina è estremamente lenta.
con hdparm non accetta il comando per cui ...
cercando su google ho trovato una marea di suggerimenti, qualcuno c'è
riuscito, qualcuno no. quelli che ci sono riusciti si sono riusciti
ricompilando il kernel. ma quello debian ha già le opzioni giuste.
mi hanno suggerito anche di ricompilarlo per K8 (pur mantenendo una
architettura k7 sugli applicativi ?)
