Squid in unstable

Is anyone else having problems with memory use in the recent versions of
Squid?

I have an ISP server with 128M of RAM running Debian/woody and Squid is
performing nicely without excessive memory use. For my personal ADSL gateway
machine (serving only three people) Squid is using over 400M of RAM. My ADSL
machine is running KDE for a single user and Squid, it has 512M of RAM and is
thrashing.

This used to not be a problem!
