Starting X as user fails, only as root works!
qemu -m 256 -net nic,model=rtl8139 -net user -hda hurd-install.qemu
...
Mach console
Hurd console
...
xinit /usr/bin/xterm
X: Unable to determine if running on a console.
X: User not autorized to run the X server, aborting.
xinit: giving up
xinit: unable to connect to X server: No such file or directory
xinit: server error

I have random-egd installed so /dev/random and /dev/urandom exists.
