Major milestone for Debian GNU/Hurd reached. Sort of.

Hi,

Somebody called 'ams' told me in some chatroom that his "(OS) X eMac's"[1]
editor would suck a lot and that he'd rather have a new[2] one.

So I asked around in #debian-suckers and they said that something called
'whim' would be state-of-the-art nowadays. I got somebody who would
rather stay anonymous to work on it and deliver.

So, Ladies and Gentlemen, the Debian GNU/Hurd port enters a new era, it
now includes what you've all been waiting for:

http://ftp.gnuab.org/debian/pool/main/v/vim/vim_6.2-426+1.0.1_hurd-i386.deb

I've disabled those flashy GNOME and KDE frontends for now, as well as
the python and perl bindings (see #244769):

gcc -c -I. -Iproto -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -O2 -DFEAT_LANGMAP -DFEAT_KEYMAP
	-DFEAT_SIGNS -DFEAT_RIGHTLEFT -DDEBIAN -I/usr/local/include
	-I/usr/lib/perl/5.8/CORE -o objects/if_perl.o
auto/if_perl.c

Anybody know what's up here?

Anyway, the vim maintainer said he'd include the patch (also in #244769)
in the next upload. You can't stop the presses anymore!

scnr,

Michael

[1] well, he didn't say "OS" explicitely, but the chatroom was about
operating system from what I've gathered, and it was the only thing that
made sense to me.

[2] He's no native speaker, perhaps that's why he pronounced 'new' a bit
like 'gnew'.
