Now that Woody is sort of winding down, Raphael Hertzog and Adam Di
Carlo started a discussion[1] on debian-project@l.d.o that has expanded to
talk about the Debian Developers Reference[2], Debian Policy[3], a new "dpkg
reference manual" that's in the dpkg CVS (per Wichert) and new Debian
"best packaging practices" documentation. This discussion is taking
place on the debian-project (and debian-policy) mailing lists.
Finding a place in this array of documentation for general porting
issues would be ideal. These are documents all Debian developers
are (should be?) familiar with.
Shall we begin creating a list of porting issues? While there may be
many they should be able to be categorized fairly well once we have them
listed.
