Thanks! You reported al the bugs against cross-install, that are due
to the latest glibc upgrade from 2.1 to 2.2pre. That's good work,
and I am looking forward to your future contributions. :)

I can fix those bugs according to you description, and then provide a
new tar file. cross-install is indeed out of date wrt the current
state of the ftp archive. The glibc upgrade broke a few things, as
the dependencies have changed.
