Kernel > 2.6.12-1 crash

I have a Visualize C200 running Debian. It whas working fine with Kernel
2.6.12-1.
After an "apt-get dist-upgrade" the machine stops booting when trying to
mount root fs. Duyring update i get this:

Preparing to replace udev 0.089-1 (using .../archives/udev_0.093-1_hppa.deb)
...

****************************************************************************
*

This version of udev requires a kernel >= 2.6.15, upgrade aborted.

You can upgrade the kernel at the same time by creating the file
/etc/udev/kernel-upgrade and then trying again, e.g.:

# touch /etc/udev/kernel-upgrade
# apt-get install udev initramfs-tools linux-image-2.6-k7-smp

After upgrading udev this way you should reboot as soon as possible.

If you will reboot before the new kernel will have been properly
installed then udev will not be started, possibly breaking the system
or even making it unbootable!

****************************************************************************
*

dpkg: error processing /var/cache/apt/archives/udev_0.093-1_hppa.deb
(--unpack):
subprocess pre-installation script returned error exit status 1

I have restarted the machine interacting with boot and loading old 2.6.12-1
kernel.
I have modified the symlink "vmlinux" and "initrd.img" to point to the
2.6-12 files and system boot fine.
I have folowed the instructions in the udev error message with same result.
I have also read a thread in this list about loading modules in the
"busibox" shell, but i can only modprobe the scsi modules and /dev is empty,
so boot cant continue.
I have also tryed to rebuild the initrd.img with "dpkg-reconfigure
linux-image-2.6.15-1-parisc". The initrd.img created has the today date, but
still same error.
I need to update to use MPPE encription, available only in 2.6.15 kernels.

Here is the console log:
