Various build problems

Hi,

I’m reviewing http://release.debian.org/transitions/html/haskell.html at
the moment, and identified the following problems:

criterion and persistent have added dependencies that are not available
without TH, so I requested removal on the affected arches from the
release team.

haskell-email-validate, haskell-ghc-mtl, got a binNMU scheduled on
powerpc.

haskell-pandoc-types on mipsel is waiting for haskell-xss-sanitize.

Then we have some failure patterns:

haskell-data-accessor-template on powerpc:
Loading package data-accessor-0.2.1.7 ... linking ... done.
make: *** [build-ghc-stamp] Error 11

haskell-vector on powerpc:
Loading package primitive-0.4.0.1 ... linking ... done.
make: *** [build-ghc-stamp] Error 11

This is probably
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=631073. Should we stop
supporting ghci on powerpc and remove all these packages? Also affects
some of the new packages (where it is just annoying for the buildd
admins, but does not cause testing migration problems).

pandoc on armel:
Garbled assembler:
/tmp/ghc26875_0/ghc26875_0.hc:90269:6:
error: expected '=', ',', ';', 'asm' or '__attribute__' before ':' token

/tmp/ghc26875_0/ghc26875_0.hc:90271:6:
error: expected '=', ',', ';', 'asm' or '__attribute__' before ':' token

/tmp/ghc26875_0/ghc26875_0.hc:90273:1:
error: expected identifier or '(' before 'goto'

/tmp/ghc26875_0/ghc26875_0.hc:90275:1:
error: expected identifier or '(' before '}' token

/tmp/ghc26875_0/ghc26875_0.hc:90277:1:
warning: 'sJpm_ret' used but never defined [enabled by default]
make: *** [build-ghc-stamp] Error 1

haskell-xss-sanitize on armel:
/tmp/ghc17306_0/ghc17306_0.s: Assembler messages:

/tmp/ghc17306_0/ghc17306_0.s:763849:0:
Error: junk at end of line, first unrecognized character is `3'
make: *** [build-ghc-stamp] Error 1

Does anybody know somethings about these errors, or feel like debugging them?

Then hledger needs to be built without -threaded on some architectures:
https://buildd.debian.org/status/package.php?p=haskell-hledger

Thats it for now, although I’m sure there are more things that need cleaning up.

Greetings,
Joachim
