This all looks OK, as does your ifconfig and route output.

Can you ping other hosts on your ethernet? You can get the
sendto: errors when the permissions on your ping binary are incorrect;
it should be setuid root. Otherwise I'm not sure why -- it might
be better to ask on linux-hams.
