First, strictly speaking fonts-liberation and fonts-liberation2 aren't only two versions of the same font, but in fact tw different fonts. Apart from the fact that both get installed into two different locations in the file system (obviously), the v1 package contains one more font family than the v2 package, i.e. Sans Narrow. Second, what causes the situation that both fonts are installed at the same time? Is it package dependencies and if yes, which packages cause this? Because, well apart from Sans Narrow, there is no technical reason to have both versions installed at the same time. Cheers, - Fabian
