I've never had any success cross-building either python itself or any
of the python language bindings. Crush doesn't support python. (Not to
mention that there are no armel packages for Crush right now so there
is no "right way" to build anything for Crush right now.)

If you want python, the best bet is Grip.

Nice to know you had some success though. Just sorry that I can't help
you - mainly because I never use python.
