Hi Holger, I didn't explain it too much because I supposed (probably
being wrong) that many of you were aware of the Linex project in
Extremadura. We have been using Linex in our schools for the last 4
years. Linex is a non-official CDD, but we make it out from Debian.
There are more flavours of Linex: for Health, Small Business, Public
Workers, games, etc., but the main "flavour" is for education, as we use
it in about 70.000 school computers. I'm one of the responsibles of the
Linex development, and specially of the educational part, and we are
interested in becoming really part of Debian, to join efforts. DebianEdu
is the natural way to do it, so I would like to talk to you about the
differences between Linex and DebianEdu and how to make these
differences disappear to be part of the same project. Somebody commented
last June[1] that Linex could be like Skolelinux project in Spain. It
was just an informal comment of somebody from the Skolelinux project,
and doesn't need to be the way things are done. But, from my point of
view, it would be great if we can add our experience to DebianEdu and
get DebianEdu great work in our schools.

You could get more info on our work at:
http://linex.educarex.es/
http://www.educarex.es/linexcolegios/
http://www.linex.org/

I'm afraid these pages are only in spanish.

Hope to see you and Knut in Badajoz.
Regards.
José L.
