Do not advise to use aptitude update since it is broken in woody
Dear Debian-Doc list,
The release notes advise to use 'aptitude update' to update the
list of packages. However woody aptitude has a bug that will cause
aptitude update to fail if the user have installed at least one package
with aptitude, see bug #309357. The work around is to use apt-get update
instead.
I would suggest the release notes to be changed to
From
First aptitude needs to fetch a list of new and updated packages for
the new release. This is done by executing:
aptitude update
to
