I searched the changelogs of lilo and grub weeks ago, when we hit the
problem of a missing pure64 bootloader the first time. Upstream's
solution for amd64 appears to be creating static 32bit binaries, and
fedora, mandrake, gentoo and SuSE adopted this.
But if you can actually fix the code and create a 64bit clean lilo,
please go ahead =)
