It seems to me the needs for amd64 are completely different from the
other 64 bit architectures. While the biarch system looks appropriate
for a system where only a few applications will benefit from being built
with a 64 bit compiler (such as sparc64), it seems amd64 would be much
better with *all* packages rebuilt. Why basing a port on the 32 bit
version when you want 99 % of the system to be 64 bit?
