This does explain why on stable sometimes packages are more outdated
than on security (because there has been no point release since).

But this does not explain why it can happen that there are _two
different_ versions of the _exactly same_ version of a package. This is
i.m.h.o. a bit strange.

It isn't 'regardless' since they are different (though only in gzip
compression)
