i think there is a key ([tab] ?) you can press to leave the splash
screen. should be explained in the lilo or lilo.conf manpages.

however, it realy makes no sense to install a graphical lilo on e.g. a
server system since nobody will watch it. but on a desktop system where
you normaly don't make any changes on the bootup parameters it is a very
nice feature. would like to see debian grub support graphical menus.
