A second revision of the SANE 1.0.8 packages is up on
people.debian.org.
With apt :
deb http://people.debian.org/~jblache/SANE unstable main
deb-src http://people.debian.org/~jblache/SANE unstable main
For stable binaries (sources are the same) :
deb http://people.debian.org/~aurel32/SANE stable main
New in this revision :
- sane-utils package containing sane-find-scanner, saned and
scanimage. The package creates saned system user and group in its
postinst ;
- libsane-extras package containing 4 backends not (yet) included in
the regular SANE distribution :
* hp4200
* niash (hp3300c, hp3400c, hp4300c, Agfa snapscan)
* gt68xx
* tevion9693usb
- some small bugfixes (manpages, ...)

Grab the new packages, especially libsane-extras, and test the hp4200
backend :)
libsane-dev in this revision lacks a Depends: on libsane-extras, this
will be fixed in -3.
Thanks,
JB.
