That involves fighting with upstream, and really unnecessary iff 
C++ interface was stabilized. 

Requiring  compiler name and version is not something that is inherent in
C++, just signifies that implementation of g++ has been unstable.


Not that it shouldn't be done, but pointing out that the idea is rather 
too optimistic, and possibly restricted to gcc.
