Why don't the packages show 'British English', 'Brazillian Portuguese',

The idea is that the first part is in the national locale being the name
in parenthesis in english. Both can be used for more info if the string
does not get too long. That way the language name can be read both in
the national locale and in english, although other languages written in
different locales may show up in a strange way, but you have always the
english part. English is an exception with both parts in english, so I
think is fine to use the first part for the language name and the second
for more detais.
