They weren't quite the same:
Maintainer: lintux@debian.org
Changed-By: Wilmer van der Gaast <lintux@debian.org>
Those two fields (the first of which comes from debian/control or
'dpkg-buildpackage -m' and the second from debian/changelog or
'dpkg-buildpackage -e') must be identical.
