>From what I saw when looking at checkinstall some time ago, rthe result is
not really a Debian package, but a tarball which can be unpacked and
uninstalled by dpkg.  Maybe this could be useful for software which cannot
be packaged in Debian, but for anything else, I would much rather have an
official Debian package.
