Yes, age cannot be higher than current since since the best case is that all
interfaces from the first revision on are still implemented. It should even
be age < current since numbering starts at 1, I think.
I do not know of a way to put this age information in a Linux shared lib? Or
is there? It is possible for example on Mach (or at least on Mach-derived
systems like NeXTStep/OPENSTEP/Mac OS X).
