And this, of course, was my whole point.

We cannot prevent people from doing stupid things on their end.  But we
can prevent them from doing them when they come through our servers and in
doing so tell them _why_ what they're doing is stupid.

Education is a slow process.  You have to educate people one at a time and
it takes a lot of patience.  Of course I'm one to talk about patience
since it has been long since established that I don't have very much of
it.  ;)
