Point taken: as others have noted, nullmailer does queue mail and is
another alternative, in addition to sSMTP, for those of us who have
simple requirements for their mta.
I note that bugs have been filed against exim complaining (rather as I
am doing) that too much reading and too much thought are required to
configure it. I disagree with making this a bug against exim (clearly
this particular trouble - which I also have - is PEBKAC). Again, there
is nothing I know of that is wrong with exim. Simplification is a valid
method to use in problem-solving though, and exim is too complex for my
needs. Exim is just the wrong tool for my task at my level.
