I will agree that Debian cannot change to suit a few newbie admins, but by the same token, we do have to be aware that such people exist, and be somewhat sensitive to their needs.
well... if a person is not a sysadmin and doesn't know at least a bit
he/she won't need to find out where is 'ifconfig' located... he/she
won't need it...
a real sysadmin will tell them what to do in case they need
