Great idea. Can you please add the cups-o-matic backend for cups, too?
Without that perl script in /usr/lib/cups/filters they are AFAIK unusable.
Another idea would be (I once suggestet this to the cups maintainer but
he never replied) to include both things into cups so that the user could
choose his printer via a debconf menu.
