You didn't notice that you've been upgraded to glibc2.1???  Oh dear.

apt 0.1.10.1 is in incoming I believe (I have an apt 0.3.0 snapshot so I
don't have to worry---who needs ftp?)  while libtricks is going to take
more to fix, there's a fakeroot package that should work okay.  The
others I don't know about yet.

I had a problem with wvdial but it turns out that even though wvdial
broke only after I upgraded to glibc2.1, there was a permission problem
on /var/lock which was the cause of it.
