The main reason I have the time at the top of my emails (*all* my
emails, not just "intent to package" emails) is because my Dad used to
get confused about the times in the mail headers with annoying end
results. Indeed, the times in the email headers *are* confusing,
sometimes plain wrong, and I hate having to make head or tail of them
myself.
My, admittedly draconian, solution was to script Emacs to insert the
time in all my emails. It does occasionally come in handy.
