libc6-dev 2.0.7.19981211-1 broken in slink?

I am trying to compile jaZip (http://www.scripps.edu/~jsmith/jazip/). I
installed libforms and libforms-dev (both 0.88.1-2) that is required to
compile jaZip. I also have gcc (2.7.2.3-7), egcc (2.91.60-2)
installed. When I try to compile (using CC=gcc or CC=egcc) I get errors
like the following -
