That's surely possible, but there is little point in doing that.
OpenLDAP 2.1 does ship the LDBM backend and the database format is not
the problem. The problem are non-conforming directories where we can do
little about.

[ dumping and restoring would be helpful to switch from the LDBM to the
BDB backend, which I believe, should not be done by the package
installation scripts though ]
