What we need is a debian-desktop subproject, with diferent installation, different defaults, different tasks and that kind of stuff... This "tasks" stuff is not really useful, IMO. You want to have an X desktop, then it installs all *dm's, all window managers and desktops that are available... not very good By the way, it does not help those who are really beginners... those are not going to install Debian... they will not know how to add their users to the 'audio' group, etc... They will be very angry when they install task laptop and netenv keeps poping up at every boot (yes, I've seen this happen) The debian-desktop subproject should make this easier... or DebianEDU will =D Btw, I agree with mostly everything Erich Schubert said 'till now.
