My udftools package contains the "cdrwtool" binary which, according to
the docs, works for DVD-R devices. Since I don't have a DVD writer, I
don't know whether it works or is useful (I packaged udftools
primarily because of the "mkudf" utility), but you may want to have a
look at it.
