A: AFAIK the Linux kernel does this already.
B: I always disable this because I know a lot of drives which just
   can*not* handle DMA and instead they just crash the system.
C: My CD-writer can't write CD's when DMA's enabled, DMA makes the thing
   read-only.

It would be nice though if there was a Debian way to do hdparm settings
at boottime, I don't like creating my own files in /etc/rcS.d/..
