Exult

I have a few questions about Exult (the Ultima 7 engine
for Linux). This package depends on gcc-3.0 stuff. Is there
any particular reason this package was compiled with gcc-3.0?
AFAIK gcc-3.0 will not be the default compiler in Woody. If
I'm wrong, that would be wonderful, but it seems packages
in Woody should be compiled with its default compiler if
possible.

Furthermore, the source package build-depends on gcc-3.0.
This means I cannot build it under woody at present. I
wanted to try this because I don't want to install an
untested glibc from sid just to try out exult.

Finally, the package seems held up in testing but I can't
decipher what's going on. Here's the entry from
update-excuses:

* exult 0.93alpha4-3 (currently 0.92alpha3-1) (extra) (low)

    * Maintainer: Robert Bihlmeyer <robbe@debian.org>
    * exult uploaded 28 days ago, out of date by 18 days!
    * valid candidate (will be installed unless it's dependent upon
      other buggy pkgs)

It's been in this state for at least a week. Since it depends on
gcc-3.0 base, libstdc++-3, etc., I'm guessing that's the problem,
but update-excuses gives no indication one way or the other.

I'm so happy this got packaged for Debian! Thank you!
However, I'm hoping these questions can be addressed and
that it will soon be playable in Woody.

Also, it sounds like an alpha5 release will be out soon with
lots of bugfixes and great new features. Here's hoping the
package makes it quickly into the archive. :)

Thanks again!
