Re: galeon won't start, who's at fault?

Please don't report a bug against unofficial packages that aren't in sid
:)

see bug # 108152 ... but if it's not closed yet then it hasn't yet
received my last message. There is some sort of a fix though someplace,
kitame knows it... he posted it to some thread somewhere... ah yes, the
0.9.3 NMU thread... just have a search for "kitame" or something :)

(he's the one providing the 0.11.3+0.12pre1-0.1 unofficial debs, and by
the way in the mail he sayes something like "oh don't install those
they're broken, but anyway here's how to fix")

Come to think of it, 108152 doesn't completely explain what the deal is.
After reading it, add this note: 0.12x releases of galeon contain gconf
stuff that is highly unstable and they're still trying to stable it. It
appears that I will be releasing a version of 0.11.3 (which doesn't use
gconf at all, and thus won't have these problems), which will be patched
by upstream to work with mozilla 0.9.3 (because 0.11.3 itself won't).
Hopefully, the mozilla maintainer, the skipstone maintainer, and myself
can coordinate in order to try and make sure that working versions of
mozilla, galeon, and skipstone get released at least roughly around the
same time. Note that there isn't a version of skipstone available that
works with mozilla 0.9.3 right now, but skipstone upstream gets back
from paris on the 11th.

Okay, that's quite enough information for one little question :)
