Not only that, but the problem has apparently been fixed in sid. mailcrypt depends on "gnupgp | pgp-i | pgp-us | pgp5i". This means that the package's dependencies can be satisfied by DSFG compliant software (gnupg) that is in the non-us/main archive. Therefore mailcrypt goes in non-us/main as well, not contrib. potato had the package in contrib.
