Any license that satisfies dfsg would do.  Bsd, gpl, qpl or any other free
license specifically doesn't matter.  All debian cares about is freeness,
which is best described in the dfsg.  

One of the reasons why I find the dfsg so charming is, because it puts
things in terms of use and users of the software.  

In other discussions, the copyrights, licensing fees, enforcing bodies
and authorities often tend to dominate.  One could easily lose sight
of the use and users of the software, which to many authors' is one of
their primary purposes of their work.

Maybe it would be better to let the authors have their say on the freeness
aspect in general, specifically.
