As for the .kde files..that was an *old* bug in kdm and how it handled
config dirs...it has been long since fixed...I just never put in any
rules to clean out the old dirs...I have this thing about nuking stuff
in the / dir...it kinda scares me...

anyway..the current version of kdm does not create this directory.
