Michael,

One improvement that I have heard will come from compiling glibc against
a 2.4 kernel is that it will provide large file support.  Right now any
file over 4GB (iirc) on ix86 will cause all sorts of problems.  You can't
even see a file with ls, it gives an error.

I hope someone packages new 2.4.x kernel headers so that Ben can recompile
glibc against it.
