glibc 2.2 problems (staroffice)

I described my login problems with staroffice on a woody box before.

Now I installed the staroffice sheduling server 5.2. on an other box which runs
potato. Login works fine there.

I can not provide hard facts that this is the glibc's problem. Of cause the
real problem is staroffice which goes into great efford not enable good
debugging facitlitys (or even the source). Anyhow, this could indicate
compatibility problems with glibc 2.1 <-> 2.2.

Is this important enough go through any debugging stress? I came to my wits
end. Someone smarter would have to look into this. I could provide the package
which provokes the problem for testing. it uninstalls pretty well, so you
would not mess up your system for ever.
