I believe Ben Collins is working on this (although I'm not sure how far
he's gotten). Some of the delay was related to trying to get thread
mutexes working on Alpha (which I did) and Sparc (which he did). There
are other platforms that will probably need the same, though (m68k and
powerpc, I believe).
