This is a non-bug, alpha kernels have the max shared memory size
set to just under 4MB by default; cdrecord by default wants 4MB.
The proper fix is to change the setting of the kernel, which
can be done by echoing something appropriate into something in
/proc (can I get more vague? :-) I can't recall the details).
Quickfix is to pass cdrecord the appropriate flag to use only
4000k of shared memory (runtime option).
