Of these bugs, three of them were my reports: 59080, 61611, 64475.

I have my doubts about whether this upload fixed any of these three
bugs. In mail to Christian Marillat about it, he replied with respect
to the first two with "Try and tell me if I'm wrong."

This suggests that he has no clue at all whether this upload does or
does not fix these bugs, and he has no clue whether these bugs have
been fixed or not. As far as I can tell, he simply took the list of
outstanding bugs in gnome-panel for programs that have been moved to
gnome-applet, and declared them all fixed.

Bug 59080 is very tricky, and it's quite possible that it hasn't been
observed by other people (some people seem to experience it and some
don't in my experience). I asked Mr. Marillat if he had seen the bug
before and if it still existed, but he just said "Try and tell me if
I'm wrong."

But 61611 would be simple to fix, but AFAIC there is nothing in the
Gnome BTS about it, so I asked Mr. Marillat if he was sure if it had
been fixed, or if he was just hoping. He just said "Try and tell me
if I'm wrong."

Bug 64475 is not easy at all to fix correctly; it might even be
impossible in the current architecture of the applet. So I asked
Mr. Marillat how the new version works, given his claim that it's
fixed. He has not replied to this mail.

Given this, I would strongly suggest that all of these bugs be
repoened (against gnome-applets, of course).

It is NEVER right to simply close a raft of bug reports when a new
upstream release comes out and expect users to check.

Thomas
