What are these other groups? I'm signing up for the FreeDesktop distributions list (http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/distributions) that Paul Wise suggested.
This thread highlights the special value of this list and other Debian mailing lists. Most other Linux mailing lists and other forums are for users rather than developers. I had NO idea that there were lists/forums for people running Linux distros to compare notes.
