Your URI scheme is wrong. That should be 'nntp', not 'news'. 'news' URIs
are for Usenet only, and specify only a group name, not a server to
connect to. This is good, as one might not access Usenet via NNTP
anyway.

A Usenet URI is as follows:

	news:alt.religion.emacs

An NNTP URI is as follows:

	nntp://nntp.gnu.org/alt.religion.emacs
