Most settings in kernel-img.conf are still supported by Debian's
official kernel packages:

do_symlinks
ignore_depmod_err
image_dest
link_in_boot
minimal_swap
mkimage
no_symlinks
postinst_hook
postrm_hook
preinst_hook
prerm_hook
use_hard_links

The optional actions are not supported by 'make deb-pkg' packages but it
is possible to do the same thing using the hook script directories which
are supported by all different types of kernel packages (AFAIK).

I would like to implement an automatic transition away from
kernel-img.conf to hook scripts for jessie.

Ben.
