Fixing the broken CJK support would be very nice. Here's what I've tested: I've run again the ./update script, and built an image with the resulting udeb; switching between different CJK languages makes me believe this is all we need to fix the missing glyphs issue we had in the previous upload. Could you perform an upload soon? (I can also take care of the upload if you want me to.)
