Boot method: Purchased a DVD or Debian 6.0.6 from linuxCollections.com
Image version: LC catalog #53628, don't know what else to put

Machine: G5 Mac, 4 Gig Memory 250 Gig Hard Drive
Processor: PPC 9xx series
Memory:
Partitions: selected 'default suggested for new users'

Output of I don't know, doesn't ring a bell, will reinstall if requested, also installed 'intall64'

Comments/Problems:
Installation seems to be ok, but when it re-boots, the display shows output from the scripts. However towards the end, I'm assuming, the display goes black and says "NO SIGNAL".  I did notice that it
output that it was 'setting the display to default' I believe.  Also, the Cinema display screen that I had is not connected but is replace with a View Sonic VA720 (other is in storage in another state)

and is going through a 'dongle' that changes the output pins to that that resemble a VGA display.

My questions:  Can I invoke it to just give me a non gui interface via some boot option?
 This option would at least allow me to view what's happening and if the boot actually completed properly.

I tried to download the 'netinst' image and it resulted in the same problem. Although I could ^C out of the scripts and get to a partial system, but many things seemed missing.
should I install another option, install expert64, etc?  I was hoping that the complete system would avoid this problem.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.  Note that I can't get into the system to

run any commands or see any output.  Is there any way to get 'error out' or the displayed output to some device? like a printer or better still a file that I can find?

thank you for submitting installation reports, much appreciated.

I read through all the bugs mentioned here (and I'm sure they were read by 
several people at the time they were submitted) and am closing them now as/if
- they (finally) indicated success and/or
- I know from first hand experience that the functionality is working in 
Wheezy and/or
- they only contained very little information and/or
- they contained user errors and/or
- they were caused by broken hardware and/or
- they have been from a development phase where things were not stable and/or
- they are quite old (and thus likely fixed today) and/or
- moreinfo was asked and not given or
- they are wishlist but rather special + exotic and not have been acted on for 
years. (See http://blog.liw.fi/posts/wishlist-bugs/ why it's often useful to 
close wishlist bugs.)

If I've closed a bug incorrectly please do reply (it's easy to reopen and I'll 
do if requested) or just file a new one - thats often better, as the bug log 
will be clearer and shorter and not contain cruft.
